Laid Back began doing recumbent tours back in 2005 from The Bicycle Works, close to the Meadows. This remains the ideal location, with a window for bike displays, plus fantastic support from their great team. Thanks to them LB can offer test rides 7 days a week.
Why no bike prices?
Most of the brands I sell are priced in Euros. For an idea of what a bike might cost look at the manufacturer’s own site and convert to GBP. Most have pdf downloads. I don’t have bikes for sale ‘in stock’ although I do sell demos from time to time. Bikes are quoted via email and built to order. I discuss all options based on my experience of the brands I sell. Waiting time for NL brands is around 6 weeks. ICE less. CIRCE less again.
Test ride versus Tour?
A test ride is free but confined to The Meadows. Tours are charged as below with a ‘warm up’ in The Meadows before heading to places such as Holyrood Park, Portobello, Cramond, Balerno or for those that want something longer, South Queensferry beside the Forth bridges. The shortest run is around 6 miles - with a session time of around 3 hours to allow for learning. A tour to Cramond and back is around 16 miles and takes around 5 hours including stops. The idea is to have fun and learn a bit along the way.
